Advocate of the High Court of Tanzania

Irene Michael Meta is a Legal Officer and Advocate of the High Court of Tanzania with a strong background in litigation and legal advisory. She is a graduate of the University of Dar es Salaam (LL.B) and has represented her institution in both domestic and international moot court competitions, gaining valuable expertise in advocacy, research, and legal analysis.

She is recognized for her persuasive argumentation, sound legal reasoning, and dedication to professional excellence. With a passion for justice and good governance, Irene combines practical experience with academic rigor to deliver impactful legal solutions.

Leonard Chimanda

PhD Candidate | Advocate of the High Court of Tanzania

Leonard Chimanda Joseph is an Advocate of the High Court of Tanzania and currently a PhD candidate at the University of Sussex, England. He holds both Bachelor of Laws and Master of Laws degrees in Migration and Refugee Law from the University of Dar es Salaam.

He has extensive experience in moot court competitions, having participated with distinction as a student and served as Deputy General Secretary of the UDSM Law Society, where he was involved in coordinating moot activities.

Beyond practice, Leonard is a member of the UDSM Research Chair on Forced Displacement, an associate of the Sussex Centre for Human Rights, and an affiliate of the Refugee Law Initiative at the University of London. He has also taken part in numerous consultancy and research projects on forced displacement, human rights, and humanitarian law, and has published extensively in books, journals, and edited volumes.

He remains deeply committed to advancing practical legal advocacy, human rights, and good governance.

Hon Abdallah Halfani Gonzi

Judge of the High Court of Tanzania

Hon. Justice Abdallah Halfani Gonzi has served as a Judge of the High Court of Tanzania since September 2023, currently stationed at the Commercial Division.

He holds an LL.B (2004) and LL.M (2006) from the University of Dar es Salaam, where he later served as Assistant Lecturer at the School of Law (2006–2023). Over the years, he has taught a wide range of courses at both the University and the Law School of Tanzania, including Criminal Law and Procedure, Civil Procedure, Arbitration Law, Probate and Succession, and International Commercial Arbitration.

Justice Gonzi is a former Advocate of the High Court of Tanzania, Trustee of the TLS Deceased Advocates Trust Fund (2021–2024), Member of the Tax Revenue Appeals Tribunal (2020–2023), and Chairman of the TLS Continuing Legal Education Committee (2018–2020).

Beyond academia and practice, he has contributed to key national assignments with the Ministry of Constitutional and Legal Affairs, the Controller and Auditor General, and the Tanzania Bureau of Standards. He is widely experienced in Alternative Dispute Resolution and was accredited as an Arbitrator, Mediator, and Negotiator before joining the Bench.

Justice Gonzi has participated in numerous national and international trainings and conferences, presenting papers in specialized areas of law.

Costa Ramadhani

Advocate | Human Rights Lawyer | Treasurer, TMO

Costa is an Advocate specializing in human rights law, with professional experience at institutions including CADA ADOMA in France (2022–2023). He holds a Master of Laws (LL.M) in Human Rights Law from the University of Liverpool, a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) from the University of Dar es Salaam, and a Diploma in French Studies from Paris Cité University.

During his studies, Costa actively participated in prestigious international moot court competitions, including the Jean Pictet IHL Moot (France, 2019), the International Criminal Law Moot (Nuremberg, 2019), and the Great Lakes Region IHL & Human Rights Moot (Rwanda, 2017).

His strong grounding in human rights advocacy and extensive moot court experience make him an asset to the Tanzania Mooting Organization, where he serves as Treasurer and continues to promote excellence in legal advocacy and justice.

Nuru Keenja

Assistant Lecturer | Gender Desk Coordinator | School of Law, UDOM

Nuru Charles Keenja is an Assistant Lecturer and Gender Desk Coordinator at the School of Law, University of Dodoma, where she has served since 2023. She holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) from Ruaha Catholic University (2018) and a Master of Laws (LL.M) in International Criminal Justice and Human Rights from the University of Iringa (2020).

Her research interests span International Criminal Justice, International Humanitarian Law, Refugee Law, and Human Rights. Through her academic work and coordination role, Nuru is dedicated to advancing justice, gender equity, and the protection of vulnerable groups.

Philip Kitomari is an Advocate of the High Court of Tanzania and a Certified Professional Banker with expertise in fintech, banking, and technology. He provides leadership in legal strategy, litigation management, and compliance frameworks, integrating law and risk management into practical business solutions.

Mjasiri Mwema

Systems Administrator | Risk & Security Specialist | Registered Data Protection Officer

Mjasiri R. Mwema is a systems administrator, corporate risk specialist, and a registered Data Protection Officer with expertise in information security, physical security, and fraud investigation. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (Information Systems) from Ruaha Catholic University and has extensive experience designing and managing digital solutions for corporate clients, including record management systems, background verification platforms, and security programs for financial institutions.

Mjasiri has served with MA Solutions Ltd and Mwema Advocates, where he led projects in insurance claim investigations, asset tracing, corporate risk assessments, and digital innovation. He is a certified project manager, ethical hacker, OHS risk assessor, and active member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE). Passionate about technology, compliance, and governance, Mjasiri integrates technical expertise with investigative skills to strengthen business continuity, data protection, and organizational resilience.
